Vampire Princess Miyu

VERY good anime. The main character is a vampire princess who travels around ridding the world of the lesser demons who have escaped hell and wreak havoc in the human world. She travels with Lava, her servant and companion, also a vampire.

It's not exactly a slaughterfest, but it is significantly dark. other dark animes you might be interested in are Hell Girl, Mermaid Forest, and Hellsing. All shadow, all the time.

havent i already seen mermaid forest? i think thats the one when they eat mermaid and become immortal... or demonic... right?
